Your 2021 Small Business Saturday Shopping Guide is here!! "Small Business Saturday" is November 27th this year, so let's show some love to the companies that guarantee your gifts will be here in time for whatever holiday you celebrate because you're picking them out in person that day in their store! Take a few minutes to plan which shops you'll visit this Saturday. Below I categorized the neighborhoods for you to easily find the specialty shops closest to your home. Although I would suggest branching out to nearby towns if you are able to because exploring new stores is half the fun of shopping local! Anderson Township and Mount Washington

The sister store to The Candle Lab in OTR, but with accessible parking! You have the option to shop their online selection, purchase candles off the shelf in-store, or *make* your own scented candles to gift to all the candle lovers in your life. Choose from their selection of 100 different fragrances to create the perfect scent for your family/friends. The candle making experience typically takes folks around half an hour. If going alone, you can walk-in and get started but if shopping as a group of 4 or more people all interested in making a candle, the store recommends making a reservation on their website (or over the phone).

This is a locally owned franchise that can create one of a kind clothing items, outerwear, tote bags, and accessories. For example, you can personalize name brand items like adidas athletic shorts with embroidery, screen print, vinyl, or dye sublimation to create a unique item showcasing your Dad's/Brother's/Aunt's favorite sports team. The friendly staff is more than willing to help you customize any of their products if you need more ideas! They have no minimum order limits, often 24-hour turnaround time, and no set-up fees.

Hear me out here, while not a traditional store by any means, this small business is a special one. Not only is the farm home to 30 beautiful alpacas, but they also transform their wool into clothing, toys, and home decor. It's amazing! You can also schedule a meet and greet with their alpacas - a fun gift for the kids in your life who love farm animals. Experience gifts are always a hit at our house!

This is a foodie paradise disguised as a "grocery store." Jungle Jim's contains specialty items from over 70 countries around the world, and each country has it's own dedicated aisle showcasing it's items. It's the perfect place to make a gift basket for your grandma filled with tropical jams and jellies or for your brother who loves to try different hot sauces. I often stop in to put together a meat, cheese, and cracker platter for the perfect charcuterie board. Everything you find here is going to be unique and delicious. Jungle Jim's also has treats for your pets, kitchen items like dishtowels, and small trinkets. Plan on being there for a couple hours!

If you have a gamer in your life, this is the place to pick-up that sought after Dungeons and Dragons deck, specialty dice, and magazines on the games they love! If looking for something in particular, call ahead and the owner is sure to have what you need, or may even be so inclined as to find it for you. It's small in size, but their selection is eye-opening.

A good ole fashion movie theater that could use your support. Movie theaters have taken a huge hit the last couple of years and supporting this small town theater will ensure it stays around for years of movie-going enjoyment. Plus, teenagers (the hardest group to buy for in my opinion) love movie theater gift certificates! They are located across the street from the Kenwood Towne Center Mall so it's an easy stop if you're in the area.

This is a make your own jewelry store. Stop-in to make a special piece as a gift for a loved one, or purchase a gift card so they can come and make their own! They also have pieces made by local artisans for sale. Each piece is one of a kind.
Madeira and Indian Hill

A cute little pottery studio where you can create something one of a kind for someone special in your life. They have ready to paint pieces that you can customize. Some ideas are: a spoon rest for your favorite aunt, a mug with the handprint of a new child in the family, or a platter with a couple's initials painted into a tree for that newlywed couple in your life. Plan on staying a few hours to create your piece of art, and then coming back later to pick it up once it's been fired in the kiln.
Milford and Terrace Park

Specializing in playground equipment, trampolines, and basketball backboards. These items would be great for a family able to splurge on a large ticket item or family with multiple kids who could all receive an awesome group gift such as a new playground for their backyard!
